The 18-months-old daughter of Eiver Stevens, living one mile and a half south of Grundy Center, was found dead Friday afternoon from strychnia poison. A physician had prescribed strychnia pills for the hired man and he had left the box containing them on the window sill. The child was found with the box in her hand.

Transcriber’s Note: A gravestone photo in Rose Hill Cemetery shows this was Marybelle born July 5, 1904 and died December 8, 1905. Her father’s name was Eiber Stevens.
