Darwin Ray Rindels, age 62, of Toledo, Iowa, was born the son of Harold Ben and Helena Frieda (Tjaden) Rindels on June 19, 1955, in Grundy Center, Iowa. Darwin graduated from Grundy Center High School in Grundy Center, on May 21, 1974. Darwin helped his parents on their cattle and dairy farm near Wellsburg, Iowa.

Darwin attended the Stout Reformed Church in Stout, Iowa. He enjoyed going to the Aplington Sale Barn with his mother, where they sold and bought cattle. He helped his brother by washing bays and taking care of his car washes. He also enjoyed going to the Highway 20 Café in Parkersburg and sharing the roast beef specials with his mother. He loved talking to people and watching TV – especially wrestling. His greatest joy was bragging about his niece and nephew.

Darwin died Monday, March 5, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, of a massive stroke. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helena Rindels.

Darwin is survived by one brother, Darius Dean Rindels of Wellsburg; a nephew, Austin Dean Rindels of Cedar Falls, Iowa and a niece, Britney Kay Rindels of Little Canada, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with burial in the Stout Cemetery in Stout.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg and one hour before services at the funeral home.
