Margaret Tapper

Services for Margaret V. Tapper, 67, of 123 S. Brook Drive, No. 1 will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grace Brethren Church with burial in Stout Cemetery.

She died Friday at Covenant Medical Center-Schoitz.

Mrs. Tapper was born Oct. 25, 1918, the daughter of John and Beulah Tolbert Thorpe. She married Everett Irwin, May 1, 1934. He died May 3, 1941.

She married Theodore Tapper Nov. 22, 1964 in Galena, Ill. He died Oct. 5, 1983.

She worked at Lederman's Clothing Store for 10 years until 1963.

Survivors include a daughter, Holly Umbarger of Fredonia, Kan.; a son, Phil Irwin of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, her mother, Beulah Thorpe Williams of Parkview Gardens Care Center; and three brothers, Ralph Thorpe of Greenfield, Mo., James Howard Thorpe of Aldrich, Mo. and Marvin Thorpe of Cushing, Okla.

Friends may call from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Chapel of Memories and an hour before services at the church.
