Keith Alton Ellingson, 40, of 911 W. Fifth St., died Thursday, April 25, at his home. Cause of death was ruled a suicide, according to Black Hawk County Medical Examiner Dr. Albert Dolan.

He was born Oct. 5, 1950, in Des Moines, son of Alton E. and Floreine K. King Ellingson. He married Christine A. Ebaugh on Nov. 6, 1971, in Cedar Falls. She died Nov. 25, 1989.

He worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing. He graduated from Wellsburg High School. He went to the University of Northern Iowa and earned a bachelor's degree in math and physics.

Survivors include a son, Jeremy J.; and a daughter, Catherine Ellingson, both at home; his mother of Waterloo; two brothers, Ron of Wellsburg and Rick of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Denise Wieland of Carroll and Deidre Hippen of Aplington; and a grandmother, Elsie King of Mayland, Tenn.; he was preceded in death by his father in 1982.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and an hour before services at the church.
