Obituary of Mrs. Hoffa

Emma H. Dinnes was born on September 1st, 1887, in Melrose township, where her parents still reside, and where she lived until her marriage, with the exception of the time she spent in school and teaching.

She covenanted with her Lord at the age of 15, and she remained true to her vow and active in the service of the church.

She graduated from Mt. Morris college in 1910 and from the Teacher's Course at Drake University in 1913. After a year's work at Drake her efficiency won for her a place as assistant in Zoology. She spent about five years in teaching in the public schools. Although her death was premature she lived to see some of the fruits of her labor in seeing a goodly number of her pupils preparing to make of themselves useful men and women.

For a number of years she has been a teacher in the Sunday School. She needs no further eulogy. To those who know her and have worked with her, her life speaks for itself.

On August 26, 1915, she was united in marriage to Lester A. Hoffa and after a tour through the West she moved with him to their farm home, where she lived until her death at the age of 32 years, 3 months, and 17 days. She was a good wife, a most obedient daughter, a loving sister and a help to everyone.

She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, her parents, a sister, and two brothers, besides a large number of relatives and friends.
