Mrs. Anna Lau, 90, Dies At Hospital

Mrs. Cora Ann Lau of Gladbrook died at a Marshalltown hospital Saturday evening. She was 90 years old.

Funeral services were at the Methodist church at Gladbrook Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Sheller cemetery near Ivester.

Survivors include two sons: Frank, Ottumwa; Earnest, Gladbrook. Three surviving daughters are Mrs. Elsie Carter, Hubbard; Mrs. Raymond Burke, Baldwin Park, Calif.; Miss Verda Lau, of Denver, Colo.

Mrs. Lau Dies At Age Of 90

Mrs. Cora Ann Lau, 90, of Gladbrook, a long time resident of Grundy county, died October 22 at the Evangelical hospital in Marshalltown. She had made her home with a son Ernest Lau at Gladbrook the past six and one-half years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Gladbrook Methodist Church with Rev. Adrian Shoennaker officiating. Burial was in the Sheller cemetery in the Ivester community.

Born in Grundy county October 25, 1869, Mrs. Lau was married to Richard Lau Dec. 11, 1900. The couple farmed in Grundy county until his death.

Surviving in addition to Ernest Lau are another son, Frank of Ottumwa, three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Carter, Hubbard; Mrs. Rosamond Burke, Baldwin Park, Calif.; and Miss Verda Lau, Denver, Colo., a sister, Mrs. Sadie Freerksen of Lynwood, Calif.; and nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
