Dale Freed, 47, Died Wednesday

Services for Dale Freed, 47, Eldora, who died Wednesday at his home here, were held Saturday morning at the Ivester Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. John Ditmars officiating. Burial was in Sheller cemetery.

Galen Albright and Udell Engelby provided vocal music for the service. Mrs. Howard Cakerice was organist. Guitarists were Neal Allen and Kenneth Johnson. The flower ladies were Mrs. Donald Eckhoff, Mrs. Neal Allen and Mrs. Kenneth Johnson.

Casket bearers were Judson Freed, Larry Freed, Richard Reents, David Reents, Gary Schwarck and Jerry Ward. Honorary bearers were Neal Allen, Kenneth Johnson, Udell Engelby, Fred Hazen, Gene Fuls and Dale Blair.

Mr. Freed was born June 10, 1924 in the Eldora area, a son of Leo and Mabel Freed. On April 15, 1938, he was baptized into the fellowship of the Ivester church.

He worked on the family farm as a youth and was interested in guitar music. He organized and played in various musical groups in the community.

Survivors are two brothers, Harvey Freed of Booneville and Lynn of Fox River Grove, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Geneva) Reints of Wellsburg and Mrs. Victor (Abbe) Schwarck of Eldora; also 16 nieces and nephews and two great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
