A memorial service was held at the church on Tuesday, April 11, at 11 a.m. for Harold Hogle, who died on April 8, his 87th birthday. Pastors Phil and Louise Rieman presided at the service. Karen Cakerice was organist and Doris Davidson was pianist. During the service, a tribute, written by grandson Ken Hogle, was read.

Prior to the memorial service burial took place at the Sheller Cemetery.

After the service a luncheon was served in the church fellowship hall and a time of sharing memories and stories followed the meal.

Harold was a long-time resident of the community and a faithful member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren. He will be missed by all who knew him and especially by his family which includes his wife of 64 years, Cynthia; his son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Donna Hogle; daughter-in-law, Bev Hogle; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; brother Clarence Hogle; and sisters, Edith Hogle and Margaret Ballentine.
