Glen L. Sheller, Age 95, Dies

Glen L. Sheller, age 95, of RR1, Eldora, passed away on Saturday, January 3, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held at the Ivester Church of the Brethren at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7. Pastors Phil and Louise Rieman officiated.

Pallbearers were Curtis Hess, Duane Hess, Glen Morland, Maurice Morland, Daniel Sheller and Keith Sheller. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Button, Linus Doughty, Fred Draper, Clarence Hogle, Harold Hogle and Basil Snyder.

Providing the special music were Mrs. John Dinnes, Mrs. Howard Sheller, and Mrs. Howard Cakerice. Mrs. Bernard Reents and Mrs. Maurice Schwarck were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Sheller Cemetery, RR, Eldora.

Mr. Sheller was born on July 14, 1891, in Ivester community, Grundy county, the son of Henry S. Sheller and Emma Gallagher Sheller.

On December 25, 1913, he was united in marriage to Ruth May Schwab, at her parents' home in Grundy county.

Mr. Sheller lived in the Ivester community his entire lifetime. He was a farmer prior to retirement.

He was a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren, was a deacon and sang in the choir for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife on June 10, 1964, five brothers, Ray, Daniel, Ernest, DeRoy and John, and two sisters, Ruth Heckman and Frances Smith.

He is survived by one son, Charles H. Sheller of RR, Eldora; four daughters, Myrtle Morland, Pueblo, CO; E. Emma Hess, Pipestone, MN; Doris Sheller, RR, Eldora; and ImoJean Frantz of McPherson, KS; 15 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry of Lancaster, CA and one sister, Lois Hughes of Los Alamos, CA.

The Longnecker Funeral Home, Eldora, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
