Ida Schwarck, Lifelong Area Resident, Dead
Mrs. Victor L. (Ida Marie) Schwarck, 53, a life-long Grundy and Hardin county resident, died Wednesday, July 11 at Marshalltown Community Hospital East.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ivester Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Arlin Claassen and the Rev. Charles Albin officiating. Burial was in the Sheller Cemetery east of Eldora.
Pall bearers were Victor Davidson, John Dinnes, Kenneth Johnson, Jay Miller, Keith Sheller and Forrest Kruschwitz.
Music during the service was provided by vocalist Marvin Boelman, and Mrs. Howard Cakerice was organist. Mrs. Victor Davidson, Mrs. Jay Miller and Mrs. Charles Sheller were flower attendants.
Longnecker Funeral Home of Eldora was in charge of arrangements.
Ida Marie Freed was born at Eldora on December 13, 1925, the daughter of Leo and Mabel Danger Freed.
She attended Eldora township country school, Whitten high school and for 2 1/2 years the Marshalltown Deaconess Hospital school of nursing.
The deceased married Victor L. Schwarck on December 16, 1945, at Eldora.
She was a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren and Senior Hearthstone.
Survivors include her widower; a son, Garry Schwarck, Eldora; two daughters, Vicki (Mrs. Jerry) Ward, Des Moines; and Jan (Mrs. Daniel) Williams, Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Harvey Freed, Booneville; and Lynn Freed, Lake City, Minn.; and a sister, Genevieve (Mrs. Bernard) Reents of Wellsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dale Freed.
