Gerald Munn Services Friday

Gerald Munn died Sunday, January 2, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center in Marshalltown. He reached the age of 93 years, 1 month and 14 days.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home with Revs. Damon and Sue Wagner Fields officiating.

Pallbearers are Roger Davidson, Don Davidson, Bart Stoner, David Munn, Jay Miller and Lyle Neher.

Interment will be held at the Sheller Cemetery at Ivester.

A memorial fund has been established.

Gerald was born on November 16, 1900, in Morris, Michigan, to Guy and Bertha Munn. He received his education in DeWitt, MI.

On June 30, 1923, Gerald was united in marriage to Laura Burkett in Eaton Rapids, MI.

They lived in Lansing, MI, for 43 years. Gerald was a foreman at the Novo Engine Co., in Lansing. They retired to Grundy Center and lived there for 23 years. Gerald was a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Laura; one sister, Gladys; and one great-grandchild, Daniel.

Gerald is survived by one son, Don and Eunice Munn of Howe, IN; one daughter, Doris and husband Victor Davidson of Grundy Center; two brothers, Emerald of Houghton Lake, MI, and Carroll of East Lansing, MI; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-9 p.m.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center is in charge of the arrangements.
