Bessie Jurgens, who worked at E. J. Gohner's all summer, was sick a little over a week with the flu she contracted while helping her sister, Mrs. Bottema, died last Saturday night. The burial was in the Ivester cemetery Monday at 11:00. A short committal service was conducted by Rev. John Albright. The weather was very damp and not many could be out as there are a number sick.

Death of Bessie Jurgen
Miss Bessie Jurgen, sister of Mrs. Reinhart Bottema, living northeast of here, died Saturday at the Bottema home, where she went recently to assist in caring for the sick.
Bessie had been making her home in Melrose township previous to going to her sister's aid. Three members of the Bottema family died a short time ago--father, son and daughter.
Miss Bessie was buried in the Grundy Center cemetery Monday.
