Cedar Falls--Mary C. Jacobson, 74, of 7703 University Ave., died Sunday, Dec. 3, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

She was born May 18, 1921, in Des Moines, daughter of Daniel K. and Hattie Belle Allmen Campbell. Her father died at an early age, and she was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Charles W. Reid. She married Bernard E. Jacobson on Aug. 25, 1944, in Cedar Falls.

She received a bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn., and a master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Before her retirement in the early 1970s, she was a second-grade teacher at North Cedar School.

Survived by: her husband; a daughter, Mary Rittgers of Cedar Falls; and a grandson.

Preceded in death by: a son, Mark A. Jacobson.

Services: will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in the Fairfield Cemetery, rural New Hartford; friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and for an hour before services at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to North Cedar Elementary School.
