YOUNGBERG, Paul E. 1944-2009

Paul "Lucky" E. Youngberg, age 64, of New Hartford, died Friday, January 16, 2009 at his home after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

Paul was born on April 8, 1944 in Decorah, Iowa the son of Roy and Vopal (Gowman) Youngberg. He was raised in New Hartford and attended the New Hartford High School. Paul then started working for the New Hartford Elevator driving Semi and Straight Truck. This led to a lifelong career as an independent truck driver. Paul also farmed in the New Hartford area when he was not trucking. Paul and Sherryann have been together since 1991 and have made their home in New Hartford.

Paul's enjoyments included tractors, fishing, hunting, going to casinos, fixing things in his garage, playing cards, and going to the Little House Café for coffee and slinging the bull. Paul was a member of the two cylinder club at the Antique Acres.

Paul's memory is honored by his mother, Vopal Youngberg of New Hartford, his daughter, Mindy (Jeff) Noble of Aplington, his spouse, Sherryann and her four children; Patty (Jeff) Adolphs of Parkersburg, Johnny Good of Austin, TX, Michael (Jessica) Good of Readlyn, and Paula (Jim) Monnahan of La Porte City, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Mark (Becky) Youngberg of Parkersburg and Rodney Youngberg of New Hartford, a sister, Linda Youngberg of Cedar Falls and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the New Hartford United Methodist Church on Monday January 19 where the family will greet friends from 4 until 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20th at the New Hartford United Methodist Church with Pastor Betsy Piette officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairfield Cemetery south of New Hartford. Memorials may be directed to the family.
