Ella Riebkes

Ella Riebkes, 78, of Wellsburg passed away January 10, 1993 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center of natural causes. Funeral services were held January 13 at the Faith Presbyterian Church of rural Ackley. Interment was in the East Friesland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Riebkes was born July 28, 1914 in Turner County, South Dakota, the daughter of John and Mary Vanderwerf Boekhoff. On December 21, 1938 she was married to Henry Riebkes. They moved into Wellsburg in 1965.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Jr., Albert, Lawrence and Sam Boekhoff; two sisters, Lorraine Boekhoff and Evelyn Lentz; two half-brothers, Ben and Dick Boekhoff and a half-sister, Jennie VanHeiden.

Survivors include her husband, Henry; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Linda) Heikens of Knoxville; three brothers, George and Arnold Boekhoff, both of Wellsburg, and Ernest Boekhoff of Ackley; five sisters, Bertha Kannegieter of Waterloo; Gracie Hippen of Wellsburg; Esther Smith of Conrad; Marlys Clark of Keokuk and Carrie Wehrman of Iowa Falls; two half-sisters, Fannie Johnson of Sauk Rapids, MN and Anna Tjabring of Parkersburg; a grandson, Chad Heikens and a granddaughter, Shawna Heikens.
