John Lindaman Rites Feb. 2

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 2 from the East Friesland Presbyterian Church for John J. Lindaman, 85, who died Wednesday at the Presbyterian Home in Ackley due to complications of advanced age.

Rev. David Dupee officiated with music by Mrs. Leonard Oelmann and Miss Deb Oelmann, with Mrs. Virgil Heetland as organist. Casket bearers were David Lindaman, Merrill Lindaman, Randy Arends, Roger Arends, Tom Heinz and Warren Lindaman with interment in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Doyen Funeral Home of Wellsburg.

Mr. Lindaman was born on a farm in Colfax Township, Grundy county on Dec. 25, 1894, the son of Jacob and Kathy Greenfield Lindaman and attended the rural school in the area.

On Feb. 10, 1921 he was united in marriage to Mae Finger. Following their marriage they lived on a farm in northwest Grundy county. They later farmed on several places in the area before retiring and moving to Wellsburg in March of 1960.

He was a long-time member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church of Ackley. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife who died on March 14, 1969, five sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Delbert J. Lindaman of Wellsburg, Lloyd Lindaman of Iowa Falls; one daughter, Mrs. Glen (Darlene) Arends of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Martha Akkerman of the Presbyterian Home in Ackley; and one brother, Jake J. Lindaman of Ackley.
