Death of A. Jaspers

Another old-timer of Hardin county has passed to his eternal reward. Abraham Jaspers had been a respected citizen of Hardin county for upwards thirty years.

He came here from Germany, and about all that he possessed was a good strong body, willing hands and heart. This combination proves successful in all cases and with all individuals. Abraham prospered with the progress of the country and when his death occurred, rather unexpectedly last Wednesday evening, several hundred acres were in his title. Less than two weeks ago Saturday he was transacting business in town, but life is very uncertain.

He was comparatively a young man, little more than 54 years of age; the father of seven children, who with the wife mourn his demise. The funeral was held from the German Presbyterian church in German township Friday afternoon, the ceremonies being conducted by Rev. Schmidt.
