Mrs. Willard Loots Rites On Saturday

A private funeral service and burial for Mrs. Willard Loots of Marshalltown was held Saturday in that city.

Mrs. Loots died Thursday at her home in Marshalltown of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The deceased, the former Lorraine Vahlsing, was born June 26, 1923 near Greene, the daughter of Harvey and Cordelia Vahlsing.

She was graduated from the Wellsburg school in 1940, and attended Wartburg College and was a graduate of the Milwaukee General Hospital School of Nursing.

Lorraine Vahlsing and Willard Loots were married August 16, 1946 at Wellsburg. The couple moved to Marshalltown in 1946, where he is employed by an auto dealer.

The deceased was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church at Marshalltown, and was active in PTA and civic affairs.

Survivors include the widower, two daughters, Mellanie Jane and Marcia Anne; her mother, Mrs. Cordelia Vahlsing, of Wellsburg; and a sister, Mrs. Norman Harms, also of Wellsburg.
