Donald Roy Miller, 80

Donald Roy Miller, 80, of Emily, died on Monday, Jan. 29, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, MN.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veteran Cemetery at Camp Ripley with Military rites. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Wellsburg or the Donald R. Miller Memorial fund in lieu of flowers.

He was born on March 7, 1920, in Wellsburg, the Emil and Ella (Kruse) Miller. He has been an area resident since 1982. He was a former member of the Land O'Lakes American Legion Post #316, Emily; a member of the VFW Post 1647, Brainerd, MN; American Legion Post Crosslake. He was a US Army and Navy veteran serving in WWII and the Korean War. He served for 13 years and was chosen to serve as an Armed Guard of US Naval Service. He was a reservist from 1956 to 1971 serving out of Ames.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons, Michael Miller of Fort Worth, TX and Paul Miller of Federal Way, WA; one daughter, Susan Windeck of Chama, NM; three sisters, Leola Abels of Holland, K. Muriel DeVries and Miriam Miller, both of Ackley; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Arthur Miller.
