Lois Moore, 80, of Green Mountain, entered into eternal life, January 16th, 2011, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center in Marshalltown. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30am, Friday, January 21, at Estel Perrin Avey Funeral Home in Marshalltown with Reverend Kim Wilson officiating. Interment will take place in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, Thursday, January 20, at Estel Perrin Avey Funeral Home.

Lois was born September 18, 1930 to George and Marie (Willig) Bessman in Alden, Iowa. After graduating from high School in Wellsburg she attended Elmhurst College and Evangelical School of Nursing where she graduated with a Nursing Degree in 1953. Lois married Robert Moore April 11, 1954. Lois retired from the Iowa Veterans Home. She was a faithful and dedicated member of United Church of Christ, leading the latest church directory effort. Lois was a past member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her family and dedicated her life to them. Whether she was volunteering for Green Mountain Little League Baseball or cooking family meals, she set an example to live by for her family. Lois was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.

Lois will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 56 years Robert, her children; George (Marlene) of Evans, GA, Robert (Sheryl) of Santa Rosa, CA, Susan Moore of Cedar Falls, IA, Sara (Eric) Paar of Marshalltown, IA, Greg (Sandy) of Toledo, IA, and Lee (Heather) of Ceder Rapids, IA, and 15 grandchildren.
