Rites Friday At Steamboat Rock For Marlyn Wulf

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, August 8, at 1:30 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock for Marlyn Wulf, 59, a former Wellsburg man, who died last Tuesday at the Eldora Community Hospital.

Rev. Dewey Lamprecht officiated at the services. Mrs. Orville Asher and Mrs. James McDonald were vocalists accompanied by Mrs. Lee Pieters as organist. Pall bearers were Dean Miller, Frank Morris, Ernest Daleske, Roland Newby, Harry Luiken, and A. E. Luiken. Interment was made in the cemetery at Steamboat Rock with military services by Hoover Eiserman American Legion Post of Steamboat Rock. Andrle and Creps Funeral Home of Eldora handled arrangements.

Marlyn Bernhard Wulf, son of L. H. and Grace Reiter Wulf, was born on October 13, 1915, at Wellsburg. He received his education at Wellsburg and worked in various fields until 1942 when he started work for the Soil Conservation Service, where he worked 30 years.

During that time, he was at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Eldora, and Decorah, retiring in 1972. At this time, he returned to Eldora to make his home.

He was married on April 25, 1941, to Ruth Platts. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Barbara, three grandchildren and his stepmother, Mrs. Grace Wulf, of Wellsburg.
