Johnnie Maas, Brother Of Mrs. T. Heronimus, Died Thursday
Johnnie Maas, 59, Cedar Falls, brother of Mrs. Tom Heronimus of Holland, died last Thursday morning at Sartori hospital in Cedar Falls from heart failure. Services were held Monday morning at 10:30 in St. Patrick's Catholic church with burial in the church cemetery.
Rev. Robert Beck was celebrant, Sandie McGill organist, and Robert Richardson soloist. Pallbeareres were T. J. Heronimus, Les Smit, Paul Beck, Don Hart, Virgil Wallace and Jay Bienfang.
He was born March 20, 1916, in Holland, son of John and Rena Meyer Maas. He married Gladys Beck Dec. 31, 1946, in Waterloo.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Dale Diamond of 4016 Rownd St., Cedar Falls, Dean Diamond of 733 Russell Rd., Waterloo, Mike Maas of 2221 Tremont St., Cedar Falls, Merv Maas of Iowa Falls, and Ron Maas of Seattle, Wash.; a daughter, Mary Kay Maas of 1612 Main St., Cedar Falls; and a sister, Mrs. Tom Heronimus of Holland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and an infant brother.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
