She grew to womanhood in Illinois, where on Sept. 8, 1896, she was united in marriage with Thomas A. Johnson, who preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1940.

In 1912 the family moved to Howard County, Iowa, later coming to Grundy county to make their home.

Devore, Hutchinson, Kan., also survives. There are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Besides the above named relatives, Mrs. Johnson leaves a host of friends, who will remember her as a kind gentle person, whom to know was to love.

Mrs. Johnson was a life long member of the Methodist church and during her early years she was an active worker in the church of her choice.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon at 1:30, Rev. L. J. Runion officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Graves sang "Abide With Me" and "To See And Know." Mrs. John Paige was at the organ. Mrs. Jack Heritage and Mrs. Orville Olson assisted with the flowers. Lunch was served at the church parlors by the ladies of the WSCS.

Burial was in Elmwood cemetery. Pall bearers were six brothers, Fred, Ercil, Randall, Oren, Virgil and Charles Johnson, nephews of Mrs. Johnson.
