Fred Lubbert Died At Dike
Fred Lubbert died at his home in Dike at eleven o'clock Tuesday. He was 77 years old on October 8th. He had been afflicted with a weak heart for three or four years. He suffered a severe heart attack Sunday night from which he was unable to recover.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Dike at 1:30 Friday afternoon. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Dike.
Mr. Lubbert was born in Illinois. He grew up there. He spent a few years in Kansas before he came to Dike in 1901. In May 1902, he and Mary Larsen were married at Dike. The first three years of their married life was on a farm near Dike after which they moved to town. Mrs. Lubbert died Sept. 9th of last year.
Surviving are three daughters and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. John Bottema, Whitten; Mrs. Howard Card, Beaman; and Mrs. Elmer Kessler, Reinbeck. The sons are Earl, Gladbrook; Fred Jr., Dike; and Arthur, Des Moines. There are 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
