Carl Moeller Dies In Minnesota

Carl H. Moeller, 63, well known Reinbeck lumber dealer, died Wednesday morning in a hospital at Brainerd, Minn. His wife and he had been fishing at Whitefish lake when he was stricken. He had previously suffered a heart attack in Florida last winter.

Carl Moeller was born in Reinbeck, Iowa, June 12, 1889, the son of Peter D. Moeller and Adele W. Hoffman. He graduated from the Reinbeck high school in 1908 and attended the University of Iowa, where he was affiliated with Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was married to Lillian D. Eldridge on June 20, 1929, at Beloit, Wis.

From 1906 to 1932 he was associated in the lumber business in Reinbeck and was a partner of Mr. Walter. In 1932 he became president of the Moeller and Walter Lumber Co. which had been established by his father and J. R. Stewart in 1878.

During World War I, he entered the army in April 1918, and served 10 months overseas, receiving his discharge in 1919. He was a member of the Reinbeck American Legion, and was a member of the Grundy county Lumberman's Association. He was a charter member of the Grundy Golf and Country Club and was very instrumental in the development of the golf club which joined Reinbeck and Grundy Center in a common enterprise.

Arrangements for funeral services had not been completed Wednesday afternoon. The body was being brought to the French Funeral Home at Reinbeck Wednesday evening.
