Mrs. Strickler Dies At Age of 74

Funeral services were held at the Alice Church of God for Mrs. Frank Strickler, Friday, at 2 p.m. The services were in charge of Rev. Paul L. Stacy. Burial was in the Alice cemetery. Mrs. Strickler quietly passed away in her sleep June 10 at the age of 74.

Surviving are her husband and three children: Roy, of Gluek, Minn.; Eunice (Mrs. Charles R. Clarke) and Blanche (Mrs. Boyd Smith) of Conrad; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Emma Dick, daughter of Samuel and Philene Dick, was born March 3, 1877, and was one of three children. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mabel Buer, Osseo, Minn. Her other sister, Mrs. John Eaton, preceded her in death.

On October 5, 1899, she was married to Frank Strickler. They lived in Grundy and Marshall counties their entire married life, with the exception of nine years on a farm near Montevideo, Minn. They have lived at Liscomb the past 10 years. To their marriage four children were born. One son, Elmer, died in infancy.

Mrs. Strickler was a faithful and home-loving wife and mother. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in time of sickness. One of her favorite pastimes was the keeping of scrapbooks.

Music for the funeral service was provided by Garrett Biersborn. Flower bearers were Mrs. O. J. Johnson and Mrs. Willard Hauser. Pallbearers were Mack Hughes, Oscar Slifer, Ralph Phillips, Ernie Hess, Mark Ralston and Albert Kitzman.

Attending from away were: Roy Strickler of Gluek, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Strickler, Morris, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Athey of Gluek, Minn., who were called back home due to the illness of Mrs. Athey's mother; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Strickler and Mrs. Delbert Darrow, Charles City; Mrs. Edna Wells, Ralph Wells and Mrs. Ralph Sprague, of Grundy Center; Mrs. Mabel Burr, Osseo, Minn.; Mildred Burr, Jackson, Minn.; Mrs. Howard Silcox, Dunnell, Minn.; Cpl. Dale L. Smith, Fort Benning, Ga.
