Last Rites Held Tuesday For Hans Pedersen

Hans K. Pedersen, 65, who resided 2 1/2 miles south of Cedar Falls on the Main Street road, died Saturday, July 26, at 5:40 a.m. at Sartori Memorial hospital. He had been in failing health since last Feb. 22, when he suffered a stroke.

Mr. Pedersen was born Oct. 23, 1886, at Randers, Denmark. He grew to manhood in Denmark and on Jan. 29, 1913, married Ottilie Metilde Hangaard of Hjorring, Denmark, and they later came to the United States.

For many years they lived in the Fredsville community, west of Cedar Falls, but moved to the Main Street place about 3 years ago.

Surviving besides the wife are two daughters and two sons. They include Mrs. Andrew Groote, Grundy Center, Mrs. Howard Lynch, Reinbeck, Peter, Riverside, Calif., and Harold, Cedar Falls. Also surviving is one brother, Peter Pedersen, living 3 miles west of Cedar Falls, and one brother and five sisters in Denmark. His father and mother and one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 29, at the Fredsville Lutheran church. Interment was at the Fredsville cemetery.
