Thos. Johnson, Former Grundy Man, Died October 8
Thomas Johnson, who was married in Grundy Center and who operated a drayline in Dike several years, died suddenly following a heart attack Thursday morning at his home in Cedar Falls. He was 52 years old.
Funeral services were in Cedar Falls Saturday at the Methodist church. Burial was in the Dike cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born at Murrayville, Ill., Sept. 14, 1901. On October 3, 1928, he and Caroline Freese were married at Grundy Center. Following their marriage they began life together at Dike where he operated a drayline for ten years, after which they moved to Cedar Falls. He had been an employee of the Viking Pump Co., Cedar Falls, several years.
Surviving are the widow, a son Roland, Midland, Mich., and Mildred Johnson, who is at home. Other surviving members of his family are two sisters: Mrs. Roy Dabbs, Mason City; Mrs. Walter Hutchinson, Forest City, Ill.; one brother, Newton Johnson, Jacksonville, Ill.
