Funeral services for Waird Aikes were held Tuesday afternoon at the home of his family at Cleves, and at East Friesland German Presbyterian church, eight miles southeast of Ackley. Rev. C. Siemsen, pastor of the church, conducted the services; they were largely attended. Mr. Aikes, the deceased, had lived in the Cleves community all of 50 years. For years he operated a farm, a half-mile east of that place. He was in his 76th year; his son Waird is employed in the "branch" bank at Cleves; another son operates a pool-room in the village. The family has the sympathy of friends in general in their bereavement.
