Mrs. Frank Butler Dies In Waterloo

Mrs. Augusta E. Butler died at 10:30 Saturday forenoon at Waterloo. She had been in failing health for a number of years. Death was the result of advanced age and complications. She was 85 years old.

Mrs. Butler was born in Grundy Center and she grew up here. She was a daughter of Emil and Catherine Beckman, among the early residents of Grundy county. She was born May 1, 1866.

In 1893 Augusta Beckman and Dr. Frank P. Butler were married. The couple continued to make their home at Whitten until Dr. Butler died in 1917. After that time she resided in Whitten, Grundy Center and Waterloo.

Surviving Mrs. Butler is a son, B. B. Butler of Waterloo. There are six grandchildren. One brother, Dr. F. S. Beckman of Grundy Center, survives.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the O'Keefe & Towne funeral home in Waterloo. Rev. George M. Vreezzelaar, pastor of the Church of the Open Bible officiated. Burial was in the Beckman mausoleum in the Grundy Center cemetery.
