Nancie Arends

Nancie Ulfers Arends passed away August 8 at Schoitz Hospital in Waterloo. Funeral services were conducted Friday, August 10 at the Ackley United Methodist Church with Rev. James M. Ford conducting. Interment was in the West Friesland Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Nancie, the daughter of Harm and Hattie Janssen Ulfers, was born April 7, 1892 in Grundy County. On January 15, 1918, she was married to Jerry E. Arends. To this union, two children were born. They farmed until 1953 when they moved to Ackley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry on March 26, 1960. She was also preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Arends is survived by her son, Byron of Ackley and his wife, Everdena, and by her daughter, Norma Lou Viet and her husband, Bernard.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ackley.
