After being in a helpless condition for two years and bedfast for the past six weeks, Elizabeth North passed away at 1:40 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kate Graver, 844 Fowler street.
Native of Germany
Decedent was born in Akermeir, Germany, on May 16, 1830. She was the wife of George North, Sr., residing at 1715 Commercial street. She landed in New York in 1852, where she resided for twenty-two years. Leaving New York, she came to Cedar Falls in 1874, and to Waterloo eleven years ago. She was a member of the German Lutheran church throughout her lifetime and held the highest respect of her neighbors and friends.
Besides the husband, she is survived by five children: George, Joe, and Fred North, all of Cedar Falls; and Will North and Mrs. Kate Garver, of Waterloo. Twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be in charge of E. F. Kistner and will be conducted Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock from the home of the daughter, 844 Fowler street. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery, nine miles west of Cedar Falls.
