Last Rites Held For August Bertram

August Bertram, 81, of R4, Cedar Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, at Schoitz Medical Center in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 16, 1985, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls with Rev. Kermit Rye of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center officiating. Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Cedar Falls.

He was born on April 2, 1901, in Grundy county, the son of Fred and Hattie Schatzberg Bertram.

August was united in marriage to Minnie Doddema on March 25, 1932, in Stout.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Richard of Holland, Robert of Hudson and Raymond of Waterloo; two daughters, Minnie Marble of Union and Ruth Barrow of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Chris and Carl, both of Parkersburg and Fred of Clarksville; and two sisters, Minnie Rieman of Clarksville and Ella Immings of Austinville.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
