Rena Bolhuis Services Held

Rena Bolhuis, 88, of Dike, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Sunday, December 11, of natural causes.

Services were held Wednesday, December 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls.

Rena was born December 21, 1905, the daughter of Christ and Gertie Saathoff Muller in rural Wellsburg. She married Lawrence Bolhuis on December 21, 1931, in rural Wellsburg. He died on January 23, 1976.

Mrs. Bolhuis and her husband farmed west of Cedar Falls for many years.

She is survived by a son, Chris C. of rural Cedar Falls; a daughter, Dorothy Holmes of West Branch; 9 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson; a sister, Mary Freese; and 3 brothers, Chris Muller and two in infancy.

Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
