Cedar Falls--Waneta Alberta Behrens, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 5, at the Cedar Falls Western Home of natural causes.

She was born July 23, 1919, in Colo, daughter of Thomas Lowman and Hazel M. Johnson Handsaker. She married Harry E. Behrens on April 5, 1942, in Cedar Falls. He died April 17, 1969.

Mrs. Behrens was a secretary for the Cedar Falls Parks Department for 17 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by: a son, Bill L. of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Barb Larsen of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Arends of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by: an infant son; a granddaughter; and a sister, Lois Grimstad.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Christian Crusaders or the church.
