Mrs. M. C. Bute

Mrs. Marie C. Bute died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Sara Nichols, the 30th of October, after a brief illness.

Deceased was born at Green Castle, Md., April 27, 1844, and at the time of her death was 70 years and six months of age.

She was a resident of Iowa for over forty-seven years, coming to this state from Illinois in 1867. She was married to Abraham Bute in 1870 and to this union were born three children, who with two sisters and four brothers survive her.

The remains were interred in the German Baptist cemetery in Melrose township.
