Louise J. Bine, 81, of Beaman, IA passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Oakview Nursing Home, in Conrad, IA, under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Beaman United Methodist Church, in Beaman. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the Conrad Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes, in Conrad. Inurnment will be at Oakland Cemetery, in Beaman. Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Louise was born January 8, 1935 to John W. and Gertrude K. (Perrin) Barry, in Cedar Rapids, IA. She graduated from Franklin High School in Cedar Rapids, in 1953. Louise furthered her education at Iowa State College (now Iowa State University), receiving her BA in Home Economics with a curriculum in Applied Art in 1957. She was united in marriage to Arthur W. Bine on June 28, 1958, in Cedar Rapids. Louise was a homemaker, mother of three and a partner on the family farm. She was a member of Beaman United Methodist Church where she was involved with UMW, UMC Evening Circle, Sunday School and taught Vacation Bible School. She was also a Girl Scout Leader, served on the Beaman library board, and was an election board officer. Louise was a member of P.E.O. Chapter AR of Grundy Center, IA. She was an officer for the local TOPS club and was named that organization's 2014 Iowa State Queen. A talented artist, Louise enjoyed quilting, reading, calligraphy, genealogy, and music. She used her artistic skills in support of various organizations.

Louise will be missed by her husband, Art; two daughters, Jennifer Bine of Indian Lake, NY, and Katharyn Bine of Fairfax, VA; a son, Kevin Bine of Beaman; two sisters, Katharyn (Jerry) Millspaugh of Albuquerque, NM, and Shearon (David) Elderkin of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
