Obituary

Sunday a.m. at 6 o'clock Jan. 3 occurred the death of Mark McGraw at his home near Dike. Mr. McGraw was about 60 years old. About a week ago he caught a cold which finally developed into pneumonia causing his death early Sunday morning. He was born in Ireland and came to this country with the rest of his people when a young man taking up his residence in New York state about 25 or 30 years ago he came to Iowa where he has since resided on a farm near Dike up to the time of his death. Mr. McGraw was a man well thought of by his fellow men and greatly admired for his sterling honest qualities. He leaves a wife and seven children 3 boys and 4 girls.

Funeral services were held in the St. Mary's church south of Dike at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Father Hogan officiating. The Democrat wishes to extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of trial.
