Word reached here Saturday announcing the death of Fred Smith living one and a half miles west of New Hartford. The funeral took place at the Catholic church in New Hartford Monday a.m. Several priests from neighboring towns were present assisting at celebrating Requiem High Mass. Interment was made in Grant Center cemetery south of Dike. Mr. Smith leaves a wife and a host of friends to mourn his loss. He was united in marriage to Margaret McGraw, daughter of Mark and Ellen McGraw who reside a few miles west of Dike. Death relieved Mr. Smith's sufferings after a lingering illness of several month's duration.
