Helen Davis, 90

Helen Davis, 90, of Eldora, died August 19 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Funeral services were August 23 at Holland Christian Reformed Church in Holland. Burial followed at the Holland Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Helen was born January 11, 1914, the daughter of Anton and Anna (Olthoff) Venenga. She attended Colfax #4 rural country school. On September 27, 1934, Helen was united in marriage to Cornelius Hinders. Cornelius died in 1936. Helen began working as a waitress in various restaurants in 1937 in Wellsburg, Eldora, Union and New Providence.

On April 7, 1941, Helen was united in marriage to Lyle Davis.

She is survived by two sons; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arvilla Gerloff of New Hartford and Margie Ann Jurchen and her husband Art of Wellsburg; and one sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; two brothers; and one brother in infancy.
