Esther Meester, 87

Esther Meester, 87, of Holland, died September 24 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Grundy Center. Funeral services were September 27 at Holland Christian Reformed Church. Burial followed at Holland City Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Esther was born March 11, 1917, in Holland, the daughter of Sam and Margaret (Siefken) Heronimus. On November 24, 1938, Esther was united in marriage to John K. Meester at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church near Fern. Esther helped on the farm and she also worked as a nurse's aide at the Grundy County Hospital Long Term Care for a few years. Esther was a member of the Holland Christian Reformed Church for many years.

She is survived by her brother, Wilbur Heronimus and his wife Lorna D. of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John K. Meester; two brothers, Samuel and Maynard Heronimus; and a sister, Anna Mae Heikens.
