William "Coolie" Hinders, 76

William Lee "Coolie" Hinders, 76, of Holland, died at his home on Thursday, April 15, 1999 of cancer.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 19 at the Holland Christian Reformed Church in Holland. Burial followed in the Holland Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Coolie was born January 14, 1923 in Allison the son of William and Hannah (Lindaman) Hinders. On April 27, 1946 he was united in marriage to Agnes Klunder in SanAntonio, TX. Coolie worked for the Holland Grain Company for 17 years before working for Grundy County Road Maintenance for 20 years. He retired in 1988. Coolie was active in the Holland Christian Reformed Church where he was an usher for many years.

Coolie is survived by his wife Agnes of Holland; a daughter, Donna and her husband Les Meester of Holland; a son Dennis and his wife Diane Hinders of Marion; eight grandchildren, Jason and Wendy Meester, Cory Meester, Farrah Meester, Tyler Meester, Wyatt Hinders, Austin Hinders, Alicia Hinders and Hannah Marie Hinders; a great-granddaughter, Shannon Mae Meester; two brothers, Marvin and Alice Hinders of Reinbeck and Ray and Mae Hinders of Holland, and three sisters, Iva Dean and Harold Radamaker of Stout, Leola Hook of Holland and Marlys and Wally Wilts of Holland.

Coolie was preceded in death by his parents.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the arrangements.
