Harvey Buskohl Died In Hospital

Harvey Buskohl, 60, of Holland died Saturday, April 9, at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo at 12:38 p.m. after suffering a heart attack at his home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 1977 at 1:30 in the First Presbyterian church in Grundy Center with Rev. Douglas Kelly officiating. Mrs. Tom Simms sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond The Sunset." She was accompanied by Mrs. LeRoy Cakerice who also played selected prelude and postlude numbers. Pallbearers were Clarence Kruse, Roger Kruse, Charles Kruse, Arthur Henze, Don Ennenga and Jasper Westerman. Mrs. Ernest Blythe and Mrs. Marvin DeVries were floral attendants. Ushers were Floyd Rouse and George Hauser. Paul Engelkes, Marvin Petersen, Gene Venenga, Gene Huisman and Lloyd Dreesman furnished cars for the family. Burial was in the Holland cemetery. Relatives and friends met at the Holland Recreation Center following the committal service for a period of fellowship and refreshments.

Harvey was born January 8, 1917 in Colfax township, Grundy county, Iowa, the son of John and Helen Walfwassen Buskohl. He was united in marriage to Lois Rademaker at Nashua, Iowa on April 3, 1951. Following their marriage they farmed north of Grundy Center until March 1969 when they moved into Holland. He was employed by the Holland Grain Inc. until suffering a heart attack in February 1975.

He is survived by his wife Lois, one son, Kendall of RR1 Reinbeck, two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Diane) Adair of Grundy Center and Mrs. Donald (Verdel) Langland of Iliff, Colorado, one brother, John Buskohl of Lincoln, and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Jennie) Buseman of Parkersburg and Mrs. Vernon (Esther) Klosterboer of Grundy Center, also four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

A memorial fund has been established. The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home made the arrangements.
