Clarence Getting Rites Friday

Clarence F. Getting, age 55, died at the Allen Memorial hospital, Wednesday morning, May 27th, where he had been a patient for 12 days. Funeral services were Friday, May 29th, at 1:30 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church at Holland, with burial in the Holland cemetery. Rev. John Entingh officiating.

Music was provided by Mrs. Henry Siefken and LaVern Dieken, accompanied by Mrs. Marley Freeseman. Casket bearers were Alvin Hook, Louie Hook, Raymond Hook, Ernest Arends, Lambert Meyer and Ernest Burkle.

Mrs. Edwin Brower and Mrs. George Heronimus served as flower attendants.

He was born in Colfax township November 26th, 1914, the son of Fred F. Getting and Anna Meyer Getting. He worked on farms in the area and on November 24, 1938, he was married to Lamka Meyer at Holland. They farmed three miles west of Holland.

He is survived by his widow; one son, Harley of Sioux City; one grandson; his mother, Mrs. Anna Getting of Holland; two brothers, Harvey and Virgil, both of Holland; and one sister, Mrs. Edward (Ethel) Schoolman, also of Holland. Preceding him in death were his father and one sister.

He was a member of the Holland Christian Reformed church.
