Dora Walters Funeral Friday at Parkersburg

Miss Dora Walters, 74, died about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Grundy County Memorial Hospital of complications resulting from a stroke she had suffered Monday at the home of her sister, Mrs. John Luchtenburg Sr., of Buck Grove.

She was taken to the hospital by ambulance Tuesday morning and succumbed a few hours later.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Engelkes Funeral Home at Parkersburg, and at 1:30 in the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church west of Fern. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Miss Walters was born May 6[sic], 1884 in Grundy county. She had made her home for nearly 40 years with her sister and family just east of Buck Grove, who survives. Also surviving is one brother, Harm Walters of Buffalo Center.

Dora Walters

Dora Walters was born on May 9, 1884, in Pleasant Valley township. She resided with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harm Walters, until the time of their passing. Since then she had lived with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Luchtenburg, for nearly forty years. During these years, through her kind service and concern toward this family, she was as a mother to the children.

She went to her eternal home at the age of 74 yrs., 1 mo. and 29 days on July 8th at the Grundy hospital.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. John Luchtenburg Sr., Parkersburg, and one brother, Harm Walters of Buffalo Center. Her parents, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
