Ted Meester Services Held

Theodore "Ted" Meester, of Holland, passed away Tuesday, December 28, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center of natural causes, having attained the age of 87 years, 6 months and 28 days.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 30, at Pleasant Valley Reformed Church in rural Holland at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Gerald Osland officiating.

Pallbearers were Eugene Meester, Glen Patterson, Everette Horwedel, Melvin Meester, Jim Moeller and Duane Schipper.

Burial followed in the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church Cemetery, rural Holland.

A memorial fund has been established.

Ted was born May 31, 1906, in Colfax Township, Grundy county, the son of Jacob T. and Cente (Claussen) Meester. He received his education at Colfax Township #2. Ted farmed in Grundy County, retiring in 1983.

He was a life-long member of the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church in rural Holland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Trena Meester and Anna Patterson; and by one brother, Henry J. Meester.

Survivors include one brother, Tom and wife Jeanette Meester of Holland; and many nieces and nephews.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
