Infantile Paralysis Takes Another

Nine Year Old Child of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meester Victim

Have Been Seven Deaths in County

Infantile paralysis claimed another victim in this county. The nine year old child of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meester of Pleasant Valley township died from this disease last Saturday, two days after a physician had called.

The nine year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meester died Saturday morning from infantile paralysis. The child took sick on Monday. Dr. Uran was called in Thursday and he pronounced her trouble infantile paralysis. Dr. Frost the government expert who has been in the county for a week was called in Friday and he confirmed the local physicians diagnosis and gave it as his opinion that the child could not live twenty-four hours. The diaphragm, one arm and the legs were paralyzed. A private funeral was held Monday and interment was made at the Siemsen church. The home was fumigated after the funeral Monday. The Meester family have the sympathy of all of their many friends in their bereavement.
