Hattie Everts, daughter of Fred Everts, died early in the morning on the 11th of August. Her health had been failing for more than a year, but she was able to be around and to attend Sunday school. She was born Jan. 13, 1890. A very sudden change for the worse occurred in the morning previous to her death. We hope that she was prepared for a better life. Funeral services took place at the Schafer church, two miles west of Fern, on Thursday, Aug. 13. There was a large attendance. Rev. Schafer preached the funeral sermon from Psalms 84, 11-13 and Rev. Saalborn from Holland also made a short address. The bereaved have the heartfelt sympathy of their friends.
