Mrs. Will J. Harms Died June 13th, Funeral Tuesday

Mrs. Will J. Harms passed away around 4 a.m. Sunday morning, June 13, at the Eldora Community Hospital in Eldora due to complications of a stroke. She had entered the hospital for treatment on May 29th. She reached the age of 69 years, 1 month and 20 days.

She was born Gladys Irene Bausman, on a farm in Pleasant Valley township, northeast of Wellsburg, on April 23, 1902, the daughter of L. L. and Minnie (Bentz) Bausman. She attended the rural school in the area. On Feb. 19, 1925, she was united in marriage to William J. Harms at the Abbott Parsonage. Following their marriage they lived on a farm in Pleasant Valley township for one year. They have lived in the Steamboat Rock and Owasa area for 30 years.

She was a member of the Owasa United Methodist Church and a member of the WSCS.

Those who preceded her were her parents, two daughters and one son in infancy, two sisters and six brothers.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Mary Lu Brown of Steamboat Rock; one son, Ronald Lee Harms of Eldora; three grandchildren; one brother, Lynn Bausman of Eldora; one sister, (Beulah) Mrs. Jack Perry, Sr. of Parkersburg and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 15 at 1 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Rev. Dewey Lamprecht was officiating clergyman. Eldon Harms was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Harms. Mrs. Edward Sietsema was organist. Mrs. Verne Fuller and Mrs. Marjorie Cross were flower attendants. Pall bearers were John Ervin Harms, Bernerd Harms, Vernon Meyeraan, Doyle Bausman, Lee Irl Bausman and Lawrence Bausman. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church cemetery.
