Ethel Mae Eslinger, 83

Ethel Mae Eslinger, 83, of Reinbeck, died September 3 at her home. A Funeral Liturgy was celebrated on September 6 at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Reinbeck. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Queen of Heaven Church or the American Diabetes Association.

Born on December 27, 1919, Ethel was the daughter of Herbert W. and Emilia Ethel (Miller) Lynch. She grew up on a farm south of Grundy Center and attended rural school. She graduated from the Grundy Center High School with the Class of 1937. She then attended college for one year. On June 20, 1939, she was united in marriage to Jiles W. Eslinger. They farmed until retiring in 1976.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister; and a brother.

Survivors include three sons, including Dean Eslinger and his wife Linda of Grundy Center; a daughter; two step-brothers, Donald Strickler and Gerald Strickler, both of Grundy Center; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
